I deal daily with the effects of an life altering accident, and now I see the world through different eyes. I’ve become advocate for those who use wheels. and who need help with accessibility/mobility issues, as I find this is an issue that nobody really wants to talk about. Most people often forget that not everybody can walk or has the same accessibility as an able-bodied person does. The reality is that we all age and that there are people who depend on a wheelchair or walking aids to get around. Often times we don’t realize that something as easy as walking on a sidewalk, can be a major challenge for someone with mobility issues. I step up and advocate for those who have mobility issues and I make the city aware of the challenges faced by those who use wheels or walking aids, with the hope that the city will implement more accessible pedestrian infrastructure that is suitable for ALL people.
